400 Bonus Airpoints Dollars AMEX promotion

American Express has introduced a limited-time promotion on its Airpoints Platinum Card, offering 400 bonus Airpoints Dollars to new customers.

The Best Bonus Airpoints Dollars Offer in New Zealand

The American Express Airpoints Platinum Card already had the most generous Airpoints Dollars sign-up bonus (previously 300 bonus Airpoints Dollars) and the highest earn rate of any credit card in New Zealand.

This limited-time promotion runs from 11 February to 26 May 2025 and is available only to new customers who are approved and spend at least $1,500 on their card within the first three months.

How does it compare to other Airpoints-earning credit cards?

Currently, only two credit cards offer a sign-up bonus of Airpoints Dollars:

  • American Express Airpoints Platinum Card – 400 bonus Airpoints Dollars
  • American Express Airpoints Card – 50 bonus Airpoints Dollars

The American Express Airpoints Card, a more basic option, has an earn rate of 1 Airpoints Dollar per $100 spent and comes with no annual fee.

In contrast, the American Express Airpoints Platinum Card combines its 400 Airpoints Dollars sign-up bonus with a 1 Airpoints Dollar per $70 spent earn rate, making it one of the most rewarding cards in New Zealand. However, it does come with a $195 annual fee, one of the highest among Airpoints-earning credit cards.
